  1. I can’t say enough about this amazing book. It was a read that I couldn’t put down. Steve has a talent for the work that he does. It’s obvious by how amazing this book is. It has changed my life completely. It has opened my eyes to the benefits of cleaning out your body and starting fresh again. I am now a vegan, and this book helped me break the bond between me, and those horrible foods. It really is true what you put into your body, is everything.   2. I truly owe you much more than a thank-you, but I must at least begin with that. Less than 100 days ago I finished reading “Juice Fasting & Detoxification” and began a complete life change that has done just that. Since then I have read “Wheatgrass: Nature’s Finest Medicine”, and also have “Power Juices Super Drinks”. March 1st of this year I was 286 lbs. and had all of the characteristics of an unhealthy lifestyle. It was not the weight so much that I was concerned with. I wished to find and concentrate on the root cause of the problem that added the obesity and other unhealthy symptoms to my life. Through the advice and guidance I gained from your books I have rediscovered life. The benefits are across the board as I am sure you are more than aware of. Psychologically, spiritually, emotionally and physically I am a new man. It is hard to imagine that this all took place in three months. I have lost over 50#’s, and my cholesterol is now 170. I am running and juicing daily, and am getting the whole family involved.   19. I was in a natural health store about ten years ago trying to figure out why my attempts at fasting never worked and lucky for me I came across this book. Juice Fasting and Detoxification is my single favorite book about fasting/detoxification using fruit/vegetable juice. Meyerowitz takes you through the steps of what fasting is, how to begin, choices in juice/liquid fasting, what to expect during a fast and how to properly end a fast.
    This book is very easy to read, I love the charts and the pictures. If you are familiar with fasting you can skip around (thank goodness for an index) to the parts that you need to refresh your memory or if you are new to fasting it is not difficult to read the book straight through and you will definitely be well informed by the end.
    The other nice thing about this book is that he provides lots of alternatives. If you are looking for a book with just recipes for a fast this is not it, instead he tells you what different fruits and vegetables do for the body during a fast and gives a few suggested recipes. I also like that he does not force the idea of raw food diets or threatens the reader about disease and disaster.
    As always if you are taking medication or have medical conditions I would hope that you would seek out the advice of an alternative health practitioner. For people who just want to feel better and maybe loose a few pounds in the process this is a great introduction to fasting with lots of options to customize your fast to your needs.

  21. I really enjoyed watching the movie “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” and after became quite interested in broadening my knowledge about juice fasting. This book was very informative, an easy read, and gave a review of all the basic principles pf fasting. It offers a great discussion of what fasting is, the benefits of fasting, and the different types of fasts. It offers descriptions of how to begin, how long to continue and how to come off a fast. This book is also a great tool to learn how the body heals itself and detoxifies, what to expect as this occurs and what can be done to help the body during the cleansing process. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about juice fasting and what to do to start my own juice fast!
